People make decisions all the time, from what to eat, when to wake up, who to date, what to wear etc. These are decisions that are easy to make as well as fulfill. Because they either make us comfortable, relaxed, happy or excited. They sustain us at a comfort zone. Making a choice on what to eat is mostly influence by mood and prefrence.
Well, We all have things that we ‘should’ or ‘have to’ do, but never do. Mostly on behavior, lifestyle, character and career change. At the end the ‘should’ do not help us achieve any of these. They only imply that we are not good enough draining our energy because they come with a bad conscience and self-blame for not meeting the goal.
There is no fun in doing the ‘should ‘ thing. You only do It as though it is a rule and when broken has dire consequences. You will end up living in a cage despite the ‘should’ being positive such as working out. It leaves you with the fear of messing up, worrying and being up tight; nothing and nobody can change your schedule. You need to relax, to enjoy each activity and responsibility.
Pause and stop doing all the things you ‘have to’ / ‘should’ and instead choose your goals . Start making decisions out of will i.e. “I choose to”, “I decide to”, “I prefer to” and “I will”. You know, “I choose to exercise”, “I prefer reading to watching a movie”….
It is important to enjoy your activities- if not, don’t do them. What happens when You do what you choose?
