Stop listening to your tired, old excuses; change your lousy habits and go for it. You know bad/poor habits ultimately slow you down. They make you feel incapable, angry, guilty, take you to an anxiety mode, and take away your joy.

Here is how to meet your new resolutions.

Want it bad

You need a ten-ton gorilla desire behind every decision or else you will quit the minute things get hard and a little twisted. It is like people who are hyped to start working out although they are more excited by chips than being able to look down and see their feet. This never works.

To push through, the desire is not enough. You just can’t want to want. You must be honest about what you really want and need.

Get good at it

Most of us freak out when we decide to cut off; which is necessary to get good at it. We need to watch less TikTok and focus on an HTML tutorial which is basically boring for a start. Set deadlines, wake up earlier, or sleep behind time if necessary to realize and enjoy the fruits.

If you are working to perfect a skill; let’s say in graphics, you must be consistent.

Eliminate the negotiation process

Decisions have to be watertight coz excuses will seep through any cracks and before we know it we will be on our asses. For instance, when the first thought is 5.00 am, 5.30 am is an option that can only translate to 7 am as the brain will be in a crisis mode. You don’t have to negotiate whether or not to take a shower after work. Do what’s right to keep your peace and joy.

Stick like a glue

Desiring and setting a goal is like giving birth. Fortunately, conceiving the idea is the fun part; you keep smiling, and jumping around in excitement and packed with energy. Afterward, you go through planning, financing, vomiting, and shapeshifting. At this point, you’re practically tired and almost losing focus.

Never negotiate on a habit changing decision.
